- Our theme for the week was the “Southwest”
- We had a half day on Wednesday
- Curriculum night was Thursday night
- October is the start of a new month, which means we will get our homework passes for 100% homework return!!

· Our reading theme for the week was United States Travel
· We read two stories in reading that related to our theme: The Longest Route and A Cause for Walking. · We watched a Reading Rainbow video about train travel that showed Lavar in a sleeping car (5 minutes) · We started using Reflex math on the computers · Mrs. Maguire switched our token system around so that we get to earn tokens for reward time after every subject · We learned about the parts of a plant in science · We took a Parts of the Plant assessmen in Mrs. DiNardo and Mrs. daGraca’s classrooms · We had a math assessment on place value · In math, we continued to work on place value. · In reading, we focused on the theme Exploration. We read a story about outer space and a different story about students going to a space camp in Florida. · At recess, we play different games. Some of us play soccer. Some of us play with toys that we bring from home. · We had a fire alarm. The principal said that we got out of the building in five minutes! · We got classroom jobs this week. · We have new tokens for behavior and we working to earn bonus bucks every day. · We learned about place value in math
· We made a book with words and pictures with our vocabulary words. · Many of our stories this week connected with the theme: DIVERSITY. · We had our first spelling test! · To escape the heat, we read in an air-conditioned classroom! · On Fridays, we get to play silent ball – and we hope that we get to do that at the end of the day today!
